1st – 2023 National Senior Games presented by Humana

The 2023 National Senior Games presented by Humana brought over 10,000 athletes ages 50-100 to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to compete in 21 sports over 12 days. Held every other year, the National Senior Games is the largest qualified multi-sport event in the world for seniors and promotes the challenge and camaraderie of competitive sports. The 2023 event theme, “Bridging Champions Through the Ages,” spotlighted the intergenerational impact of Senior Games as participants inspire others to be active every age.

2nd – 57th AAU Junior Olympic Games

 

The AAU Junior Olympic Games is the largest multi-sport event for youth in the United States. The 57th edition, held in the summer of 2023, featured 11 different sports competitions, including track and field, wrestling, karate, taekwondo, swimming, and more. The 11-day event brought in an economic impact of $69 million to the Des Moines, Iowa, region with more than 14,500 participants. This was the seventh time Iowa has hosted the event, more than any other location. Des Moines has also already been tabbed to host the event again in 2026 and in 2030.

3rd – 2023 USA Gymnastics Championships

Tulsa’s BOK Center and Cox Business Center welcomed more than 1,600 of the nation’s top acrobatic, rhythmic, and trampoline and tumbling gymnasts and hundreds of coaches, judges and support staff on June 20-24 for the 2023 USA Gymnastics Championships. The annual event determined national champions across the developmental and elite levels for each represented discipline and attracted Olympians and World medalists in addition to the country’s most-promising up-and-coming athletes.
