Readers’ Choice Awards

It is an honor to recognize the events, planners, venues, and destinations in this annual issue of the 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards.

We received almost 4,000 votes in SportsEvents’ Annual peer-nominated contest to recognize excellence in the sports events industry.

The past year came to be known by these words: Unprecedented. Challenging. The New Normal. Spin those words in a positive direction and think of these winners and nominees as groundbreakers, trendsetters, and champions in a time when all said it couldn’t be done.

Events were hosted. Athletes participated. Families traveled and sports adapted to provide normalcy to a foreign time in our history.

This year, we added new categories to recognize the shift for some sports from live to virtual events and recognized planners who creatively excelled in their jobs. Category nominees also highlighted the destinations that overcame obstacles and people who many consider leaders of the sports industry’s future for youth and amateur athletic events.

SportsEvents magazine focuses on youth and amateur events across the United States, and the inclusion of professional events this year is an indication that overlapping does occur.
