Wilmington and Beaches CVB hires senior sales manager for corporate and sports markets

WILMINGTON, N.C.—The Wilmington and Beaches Convention & Visitors Bureau has hired Genia Artis as its new senior sales manager for corporate and sports markets.

Artis, a Wilmington native, brings more than 20 years of experience in hospitality sales and event planning. She previously served as sales manager at Lumina on Wrightsville Beach, a Holiday Inn Resort, and has held sales roles at the Courtyard Marriott Carolina Beach Oceanfront and Hotel Ballast, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. She is a graduate of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Leadership Wilmington program.

Outside of work, Artis enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, traveling, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to the CVB.

“We are excited to welcome Genia to the Wilmington and Beaches CVB’s sales team and welcome the fresh ideas and energy we are sure she will bring to her position,” says New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority president and CEO Kim Hufham. “Her experience and skill set will be increasingly valuable as our organization moves forward with the destination’s first-ever 10-year Tourism Master Plan.”
