Sports betting is a popular subject today. Sports betting, also referred to as sports gambling, is being legalized across the U.S. at a rapid rate. New Jersey and Arizona are two out of the nearly two dozen states that have legalized sports betting, with California, Louisiana, and a handful of other states getting ready to pass final bills in the coming months.
In Colorado, profits are being reported at approximately $6.6 billion and counting. With all the profits, where is the money going to? What does it benefit? Is the money going back to CVBs? Does the money indirectly benefit youth and amateur sports?
Since states with sports betting will soon be more common than states without it, it has me wondering what events will look like soon. Will there need to be a betting “broker” at the event? Will it be advertised? How does it work?
Here at SportsEvents, our team has burning questions surrounding sports betting and we need your help!
If you are a with a CVB or a planner in a state where sports betting has been legalized, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. We would love to hear from you personally about how you think sports betting will impact the sports world and more!
