Abingdon is located off Interstate 81 and is a central hub to some of Southwest Virginia’s best scenic outdoor destinations. The city is home to the Rails to Trails Hall of Fame Virginia Creeper Trail, a 34-mile biking and walking trail starting in Abingdon and ending at Whitetop Mountain.
