LANSING, Mich.–The Lansing Sports Commission (LSC) has named Kendall Boelman as its new sports coordinator.

“Kendall has already demonstrated remarkable potential and commitment during her internship with us,” says Meghan Ziehmer, executive director of the LSC. “Her background in sports and marketing combined with her passion for community involvement aligns perfectly with our mission.”

Boelman joined the LSC team in February 2024 as a sports intern. Currently a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in sports business management at Michigan State University, Boelman has gained experience through various internships and student organizations. She has held roles at Bauer Entertainment Marketing, the Lansing Lugnuts, and Business Teams at MSU, coaching students and athletes.

Boelman brings lifelong sports involvement and dedication to community service to the LSC team. She played competitive soccer for 13 years and was part of the USL Super Y League. She was also the philanthropy chair of Gamma Phi Beta, where she led efforts to support the philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run.

As sports coordinator, Kendall will support team members in attracting, creating, and hosting events. She will also provide vital administrative support, which includes creating client presentations and proposals and coordinating the commission’s operations.

“I am excited to join the Lansing Sports Commission in this new capacity and to continue working with the team to enhance sports in Greater Lansing,” says Boelman. “I look forward to helping create memorable events and building strong relationships within our community.”
