MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Construction remains on track for the Mishawaka Fieldhouse, an indoor sports facility that’s expected to attract one million visitors a year upon its completion.
Steel has gone up on what will be the basketball side of the building. When it’s finished, the Mishawaka Fieldhouse will include 10 basketball courts. Those will convert to 19 volleyball courts. It will also feature one turf field and 12 pickleball courts.
The facility is slated to open in the third quarter of 2024.
After the groundbreaking of the facility in July, Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood stated, “As a result of the new, major youth athletic center, what is important to the City of Mishawaka is the tens of thousands of visitors that will be coming from outside the area that will be a significant benefit to our many hotels, businesses, and restaurants in Mishawaka and the greater region.”
