MLV launches as premier league for USA Women’s Pro Volleyball

OMAHA, Neb.—MLV Holdings, a newly formed investment group, recently announced the launch of Major League Volleyball (MLV), a women’s professional volleyball league supported by more than $100 million in committed funding. MLV is expected to launch in January 2026 and will feature 10 teams, including the Omaha Supernovas, the leading franchise in professional volleyball.

As a group, MLV comprises of entrepreneurs, athletes, creatives, and operators is aiming to redefine professional women’s sports. MLV is working to be the ultimate platform for athletes, empowering them to compete at the highest level while delivering opportunities for fans, sponsors, and stakeholders.

MLV is led by Omaha Supernovas, the founding MLV franchise; Danny White, founder of the Omaha Supernovas and MLV founding partner; Vivek Ranadivé, the owner and chairman of the Sacramento Kings and founder of Bow Capital and TIBCO Software; international star Jason Derulo; three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings; and Benjamin Priest, founder of Won Group, a venture studio created with NBA Champion and entrepreneur Kyle Kuzma.

MLV will launch with teams in Wisconsin, California, Minnesota, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Kansas, Ohio, and Washington. Franchises will be independently owned and operated, with MLV creating ownership standards and operational playbooks to ensure major league standards are upheld.
