
RICHMOND, Ky. – A multi-million-dollar sports complex in Richmond, Ky., is close to becoming a reality.
As reported by WKYT.com, the Richmond Regional Sports Complex will include 11 full-sized soccer fields; multi-purpose fields for football and lacrosse; pickleball, tennis, volleyball, and baseball fields; a dog park; and multiple trails.
In the article, city manager Rob Minerich says the complex is expected to bring as much as $7 million in annual economic impact, as well as allow the city to compete with destinations such as Louisville, Knoxville, and Indianapolis.
Minerich since planning began for the complex, the city has secured two hotels close to the location.
Construction is expected to start in October, with an estimated construction timeline of 18 months to two years.
