1. Wintrust Sports Complex

Wintrust Sports Complex, located in Bedford Park, Ill., is one of the Midwest’s best destinations for sports, events, and recreation. This multipurpose sports tourism and entertainment facility has something for everyone. It features 16 volleyball courts, including an NCAA regulation-size championship court. Recent events include AAU Volleyball/Progressive Volleyball Events, 2025 Spring Hopper, Hype Nation Volleyball Tournaments, Point Series Volleyball Tournaments, and Great Lakes Region Volleyball Tournaments.
Wintrust Sports Complex also offers flexible meeting spaces, private party rooms, and free parking (1,100 spaces). It also has a 2,000-square-foot laser tag arena and a retro arcade with the latest games. For adults over 21, the facility offers video gaming slots in the Station Grille sports bar, which overlooks the courts.
Its strategic location places it within minutes from Chicago’s Midway Airport, prominent interstates, and well-connected railway systems. This convenience and accessibility render it a great venue for sports tournaments, attracting athletes and their families across the United States. 2. Henrico Sports & Events Center
Henrico, Va.
The Henrico Sports & Events Center (HSEC) in Henrico County, Va., has quickly emerged as one of the premier volleyball venues in the country. This 185,000-square-foot complex is custom-built for high-caliber competition, offering 24 full-sized volleyball courts outfitted with ceiling-mounted, state-of-the-art equipment that allows for seamless court transitions and maximum use of space.
Over a recent 16-month span, from Dec. 2023 to March 2025, the HSEC hosted 10 major volleyball tournaments, many drawing between 125 and 190 teams each, from across the country. That equates to more than 1,500 teams and tens of thousands of athletes, coaches, and spectators passing through the facility, solidifying the HSEC as a hub for regional and national volleyball events.
The facility also maintains a vibrant year-round volleyball presence through two local volleyball clubs. These clubs use multiple courts on weekdays for practices and training, keeping the center full and active even outside of tournament weekends.
Beyond its 24 courts, HSEC features full concessions and in-house catering, multiple meeting rooms for team strategy or staff coordination, and a VIP hospitality space that opens to a 3,500-seat arena perfect, for championship matches and final showdowns.

5. Hoover Met Complex

Part of the Finley Center, a state-of-the-art 155,000 square-foot sports complex and event venue, the Hoover Met Complex is located in Hoover, Ala., a suburb of Birmingham. With 83,000 square feet of continuous space, the facility can transform into a 16-court volleyball competition space. The facility can host several thousand spectators through seating and an elevated track. It also offers three meeting rooms for tournament operations, an athletic training and sports rehabilitation center, and a food court overlooking the complex. The Hoover Met Complex has hosted numerous national volleyball tournaments and the Alabama High School Athletic Association Region Volleyball Tournament, which generates more than 20,000 visitors over the course of three days.

Erie Sports Center is a 56-acre facility with two outdoor beach volleyball courts and four indoor hard-court volleyball courts. They host eight weekends of volleyball tournaments for teams from across the region. Based out of the Erie Sports Center, the ESC Volleyball Club offers opportunities for boys and girls ages 10 to 18. ESC’s girls’ season runs mid-December to late Spring, and its boys’ season runs from late November to February.

Western Sports Park features two large arenas with flexible layouts. USA Volleyball (USAV)
The national governing body for the sport of volleyball in the United States. USAV sanctions most high-level club tournaments and is affiliated with the U.S. Olympic Committee. Events under USAV typically require certified referees, strict safety protocols, and age-specific divisions.
