FRANKLIN, Wisc. Noise complaints about a Wisconsin sports complex have led local officials to consider legal action.

The facility in question is Rock Sports Complex in Franklin, Wisc., near Milwaukee. According to an article from local television station WISN, the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors has discussed legal action against Roc Ventures, owner of the facility, for violating a 2017 developer agreement with the county.

County Supervisor Patti Lodgson told WISN she has received an increasing amount of noise complaints about the complex over the past five years. The article states that Lodgson is drafting a resolution regarding possible legal action to bring to the board.

The county recently funded a noise study, which claimed fireworks and some live music events at the facility violated local noise laws.

According to the article, Matt Zimmerman, owner of Roc Ventures, issued a statement where he said they are taking the concerns of local officials and residents “seriously.”

Further, Zimmerman says now that the noise study has been completed, he is ready to sit down with local officials to hash out a way to address their concerns and also “provide the best experience for our visitors.” However, he noted that they have already taken steps to mitigate noise issues, including ending a summer concert series at 10:30 p.m. instead of midnight, removing speakers from the complex’s drive-in theatre, and shortening the length of an upcoming Halloween-themed event.

According to local media reports, a meeting was set up between Zimmerman and local officials on Friday, Sept. 22. No details from the meeting have been released so far.
