MONROE, La. – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division 1 National Track and Field Championships will be held May 16-18 at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) Brown Stadium.

This event has an estimated economic impact of over $468,200 and will bring more than 850 athletes, 125 coaches, and hundreds of family members to Ouachita Parish.

“We are excited to host the NJCAA national championships for track and field. This is our first time hosting this prestigious event in Monroe-West Monroe. Our board saw the investment in upgrades at the ULM track as an avenue to bring economic impact through events to our community. With over 850 athletes competing from throughout the United States, our businesses have a great opportunity to showcase our Southern hospitality to the competitors, coaches, families, and friends. We are grateful to our track community volunteers for helping us conduct the full three-day event. The public is invited to come and watch the national level competition on the beautiful campus of ULM,” says Alana Cooper, Discover Monroe-West Monroe president.

The NJCAA is the governing body of intercollegiate athletics for two-year colleges. As such, its programs are designed to meet the unique needs of a diverse group of student-athletes.
