GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.— Legendary professional golfer Jack Nicklaus will be the featured speaker at the West Michigan Sports Commission’s (WMSC) annual event on June 23 at 5 p.m. at DeVos Place’s Steelcase Ballroom.

“An Evening with Jack Nicklaus” serves as a fundraiser and progress report on the success of the organization in attracting and hosting youth and amateur sporting events to enhance the region’s economy and quality of life. The evening includes a dinner program with a live auction and all proceeds will be divided evenly between WMSC and two of Nicklaus’ charities, the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation and Folds of Honor through Nicklaus’ newest golf course design project, American Dunes Golf Club.

Nicklaus is coordinating the event in conjunction with developing American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven that is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend with its first nine holes. The new course designed as a tribute to U.S. military men and women and as a haven for veterans who find rehabilitation through golf recreation.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and evening activities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, a meet-and-greet with Nicklaus for ticketed-only sponsors from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and concludes with a program and lie auction from 7 to 9 p.m.
