Bringing the industry together at S.P.O.R.T.S. The Relationship Conference

As I write this blog, I have found a few moments to slow down the hectic pace of attending a sports event conference. In this case, it is the S.P.O.R.T.S The Relationship Conference, which is organized by SportsEvents Media Group.

Even though my background is in editorial—and by no means event planning—putting on this type of event requires an all-hands-on-deck mentality. Over this past weekend, I helped fill registration bags, unloaded a U-Haul truck, and even placed stickers on goodie bags. It’s all part of living the conference life.

This year, we are at the beautiful Notre Dame University in South Bend, Ind. Over the next few days, event planners will connect with destination teams from across the country, as well as our sales and editorial teams at SportsEvents magazine. The conference is all about building relationships, which are paramount in the sports event and tourism industries; but we all know relationships aren’t just about work—they also need some fun.

This week, our events planning team and sponsors have come together to put together a schedule of fun events, including “Bourbon and Bingo On The Rocks,” a golf scramble, a Mardi Gras-styled after-party, alongside other social and networking activities.

While the event is just beginning, our whole team would like to thank all the attendees, our sponsors, and our partners in South Bend and Notre Dame.
