Ironman Triathlon for Maple Valley

MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. — The IRONMAN Group has announced that Maple Valley, Wash., will host its first IRONMAN® 70.3®  Triathlon Series on Sept. 20, 2020.

After a rolling start format, the 1.2-mile swim will take place at Lake Wilderness Park, offering views of Mount Rainier. Athletes will then embark on a 56-mile bike course over the rolling hills of King County before returning to Lake Wilderness Park to take part in a 13.1-mile run along the paved trails.

“We are very proud of our outdoor recreational opportunities and we believe athletes and visitors will thoroughly enjoy visiting our awesome city and our beautiful Lake Wilderness Park!” said Laura Philpot, city manager for Maple Valley.

Maple Valley is about 30 minutes east of Seattle and Tacoma and has one of the fastest growing populations in the state of Washington. General registration opens Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020 at ironman.com/im703-washington.
