COLORADO SPRINGS, Col. – Visit Colorado Springs (VCOS) has promoted Kathy Reak to vice president of sales. The promotion follows the retirement of Pam Sherfesee in December after 26 years with the organization.
Sherfesee lead the VCOS group sales team in booking meetings and events in Colorado Springs, bringing in millions of dollars each year to the local economy. Under her leadership, the department won multiple awards each year for excellence in customer service to meeting and event planners.
“With Kathy stepping into the position of VP of sales, we are able to maintain consistency for the brand image of Colorado Springs among meeting planners and partners,” said Doug Price, VCOS president and CEO.
Reak started her career at VCOS in 1997 and her markets include Washington, D.C.-based associations, all states east of the Mississippi, Minnesota, and Texas, as well as religious groups.
“I am very excited to step into this new role and, together with our team, help Colorado Springs recover from the past year,” said Reak. “We are looking forward to welcoming conventions, sports groups, and reunions back to our area. We believe we are poised to do just that and know we will play a significant role in showcasing Colorado Springs as the vibrant destination it is.”
In addition to Reak’s new role, Dina Worthen has been promoted to senior sales manager. Worthen joined VCOS in 2017 and previously served as sales manager. Her markets include military reunions, education, fraternal, government, hobby groups and associations west of the Mississippi. Other title changes include Cheryl McCullough, senior director of sports & events, Holly Taylor, group servicing manager, and Sarah Price, group sales administrator.
