LANSING, Mich.— The Lansing Sports Commission® has promoted Miranda Coleman to sports development manager.
In her new role, Coleman is responsible for developing and preserving relationships with sports rights holders, national governing bodies, local facility representatives, and the lodging community to solicit, secure, and create sporting events for Greater Lansing.
“Miranda brings an unmatched energy to our team, always radiating positivity, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude that lifts us all,” says Meghan Ziehmer, executive director of the Lansing Sports Commission. “She exemplifies the dedication and care that drives our success, and I know she will thrive in this new role.”
Coleman often plays a hands-on role at events, driving marketing, solving challenges, and ensuring seamless execution. Her behind-the-scenes coordination and strong local connections help make Greater Lansing sports events a success.
She has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Olivet College and a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Central Michigan University. She graduated from Lansing Everett High School and played on their back-to-back State Championship girls’ basketball teams. Both of her 2000 and 2001 teams were inducted into the class of 2022 Greater Lansing Sports Hall of Fame.
