ESTES PARK, Colo.– Planning is underway for the 2018 US
Trail Running Conference which will be held for the first time in San Luis
Obispo, Calif, Aug 28-31. The event has been held in Estes park for the past
five years.

Race SLO,
California’s Central Coast’s leading sports events producer will host the 6th
US Trail Running Conference, sponsored by the City of San Luis Obispo, with
annual educational conference attendees which include trail running industry
leaders, race directors, sponsors, athletes and running brands.

The
interactive three half-day conference will be held in conjunction with the SLO
Ultra and MTB trail run and mountain bike event, slated for Sept. 1-2, 2018.

“We are
fired up to be hosting the US Trail Running Conference which will be an ideal
addition to our SLO Ultra trail run and mountain bike race weekend of events,
as we showcase our country’s extensive trail system, collaborate with industry
leaders, then celebrate the fast-growing sport of trail running. As both a past
attendee and guest speaker at this conference, I know first-hand the power of
connection with peers and how bringing this national sport conference here will
help put Endurance Town USA on the map!” said Samantha Pruitt, RACE SLO Founder
and CEO.

Nancy Hobbs, executive director of the American Trail
Running Association
(ATRA), added “Having partnered with Active at Altitude’s
Terry Chiplin since the inception of the conference, this new model to move the
event to different areas of the country is a fantastic and positive change. In
looking at new venues, San Luis Obispo is an ideal choice and all of us at the
American Trail Running Association are excited to experience SLO.”

 Last year’s
conference in Estes Park drew 175 attendees from 20 states, as well as Canada
and the Azores, including more than 50 professional race directors and 15
running brand vendors.
