SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – Approximately 19 tournaments are slated throughout Snohomish County in March. With the upcoming spring season, baseball and fastpitch tournaments are in motion, as well as disc golf. Taekwondo, radio-control car racing, roller derby, gymnastics, team handball, and dodgeball are also putting Snohomish County on the map for its variety of indoor sports.
The 19 tournaments are being held all over the region, from Arlington to Monroe to Lynnwood. They are expected to generate $3.8 million in visitor direct spending, 3,579 room nights, and bring more than 15,300 visitors to Snohomish County.
Eight of the sports tournaments are new to Snohomish County: Global Athlete United Training Center, Everett Mall Blaster Battle, USA Gymnastics Men Washington State Championship, Rainy Season Rumble, Tulalip March Madness Basketball Tournament, National Preps Showcase, Perfect Game Northwest Going, Going, Gone Baseball Tournament, and Seattle Handball Cup.
“To see the variety of sports tournaments that are being held throughout Snohomish County is exciting as these tournaments showcases the sports diversity Snohomish County has,” says Tammy Dunn, Snohomish County Sports Commission executive director. “Our partnerships with the local, regional, and national sports organizations, community, and venues give us the ability to create memories for the athletes and family members and promote our restaurants, retail shops, and attractions.”
