Snoop Dogg becomes new sponsor for Arizona Bowl

The iconic rapper Snoop Dogg has signed a sponsorship deal with the Arizona Bowl to promote his alcoholic drink brand.

TUCSON, Ariz.—The iconic rapper Snoop Dogg and his alcoholic drink brand, Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop, are partnering with the Arizona Bowl. The announcement was made on the rapper’s social media account.

“I am ready to bring the juice back to college football,” Snoop Dogg says in a statement. “I am taking my talents to Arizona. Believe me, Arizona baby, I’ll be there. Will you be there? Guess what? I’ll see you there.”

The iconic rapper is a big supporter of football. His well-known Snoop Youth Football League (SYPL) has sent 40 kids to the NFL in 17 years. The Bowl representatives say his support for the Arizona Bowl and the Southern Arizona Bowl will take them to new heights.

“We have one of the world’s greatest pop culture icons right here associated with Tucson, Arizona,” Arizona Bowl chairman Ali Farhang says. “I don’t know how to put into words how immense that is for our community.”

The Bowl is the first NCAA-sanctioned event with an alcoholic brand as a sponsor.

“We have a reputation at the Arizona Bowl for thinking out of the box, taking risks, and being entrepreneurial, not doing what everyone else is doing,” Arizona Bowl executive director Kym Adair says.

The Bowl has already signed a three-year deal with Snoop Dogg and his drink, with the option to extend the contract.

“You could drink a beer, drink a seltzer in the stadium while you are watching the game,” Adair says. “You could watch the commercials on TV about all the different beers, seltzers, and alcohol. You couldn’t actually present an alcoholic beverage within the presentation of the game. That’s brand new, something that has never been done before. We are really excited to be the ones to bring it and open up that avenue for everybody.”

The Arizona Bowl kicks off on Dec. 28 at 2:30 PM Arizona time.
