SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash.—The Dink Minor Leagues Pickleball Northwest Regional Showdown hosted by ZZ2 Pickleball is scheduled for Sept. 7 to 8 at the Cavelero Mid-High School. This pickleball tournament is one of the Minor League Pickleball Regional Showdowns taking place across seven regionals of the United States.
Minor Leagues Pickleball is a team competition in which four players—two women and two men compete against each other in an engaging format. The MLPlay format team matches are composed of four 21-point games: one women’s double, one men’s double, and the final two games consisting of mixed doubles. Teams play in a round-robin pool, and the top teams compete in a bracket playoff.
One hundred sixty players in teams of four will play in six different DUPR Divisions: 12 / 14 / 16 / 18 / 20. The winning team will earn a Dream Ticket to the National Championships, December 13-15, 2024, in Fenton, Miss.
“MiLP is the most exciting Pickleball format out there. Teams of 4 players competing and supporting each other for two days, looking to win cash and a ticket to the National Tournament later this year in Missouri. This is the best event of the year,” says Pablo Granados, tournament director.
“To host a Minor Leagues Pickleball Northwest Regional Showdown in Snohomish County is a great opportunity for many pickleball players to enjoy fun, competitive play,” says Tammy Dunn, executive director of the Snohomish County Sports Commission. “We encourage the community to come out and watch some exciting pickleball matches.” For more information on the Dink Minor League Pickleball tournament, visit https://officialminorleaguepb.com/
