Portland’s Rose Quarter will host what could become one of the greatest events in college basketball history in November 2017 as 16 of the top men’s college basketball teams come together for a unique tournament to honor Nike Co-Founder Phil Knight’s 80th birthday.
The tournament, PK80 — the Phil Knight Invitational, will include Duke, North Carolina, Michigan State, UConn, Florida, Georgetown, Oregon, Texas, Gonzaga, Portland State and the University of Portland.
PK80 will honor Knight in advance of his 80th birthday. Two eight-team tournaments consisting of three games per team will run simultaneously in the Moda Center and Veterans Memorial Coliseum, ultimately crowning two champions. All games will be televised on ESPN networks.
The schools participating in PK80 have combined for 23 National Championships, more than 85 Final Fours, and more than 380 NCAA Championship appearances.
