U.S. Olympic Endowment Accepts Nominations for Leadership Award

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— The United States Olympic Endowment is accepting nominations for the George M. Steinbrenner III Sport Leadership Award, which annually honors a member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic family. The award goes to the person who has made outstanding contributions to sport through management, sport organization endeavors or the enhancement of competitive opportunities.

            The Steinbrenner Award is named after the late George M. Steinbrenner who served as vice president of the U.S. Olympic Committee from 1989-92. He also owned the New York Yankees for 37 years and the club won seven World Series titles.

            Nominations are due April 30, 2020.
