VALLEY FORGE, Pa.—
The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board has raised a record $100,000 for Valley Forge National Historical Park through its 20th annual Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run and 2-mile walk.

More than 1,500 runners and walkers from 23 U.S. states and the Netherlands participated in this year’s hybrid event, contributing to the highest donation in the race’s history.

Organizers said the milestone year also brought record participation and sponsorship support, reflecting continued growth of the event and increased community investment.
Since its launch in 2006, the race has generated more than $800,000 for park infrastructure projects and visitor programming. Proceeds from this year’s event are expected to support summer programming by Historic Philadelphia Inc., provide shuttle service during Fourth of July weekend, and help fund operations for the park’s 50th anniversary celebration.

“I’m so proud of how this race has grown into a favorite within our community—where community remains the heart of it all,” says Kirsten Tallman, race director. “As we celebrate 20 years, this truly feels like a historic year on all fronts and a reflection of just how much the event has grown over time. There’s a deep appreciation for the Park and seeing everyone come together in one place on race day to celebrate is truly a powerful and moving experience. Each year, the race continues to evolve, offering a meaningful opportunity for stewardship and connection to the park—just as it was designed to do 20 years ago.”

The event featured both in-person and virtual participation options, with the virtual race allowing registrants to join from anywhere between April 19 and April 25.

Race day activities included a Start Line Experience, hosted by Highmark, and post-race festivities featuring vendors, food, and entertainment. Participants received commemorative medals or coins, and top finishers were awarded cash prizes and additional recognition by age group.

Officials noted the park has a significant economic impact on the surrounding region, contributing more than $40 million annually and supporting hundreds of jobs.
