Winter Games of Texas Select Pearland for 2018-2019
The 2018-2019 Winter Games, an Olympic-style, multi-sport event is scheduled for January 12-14, 2018 and January 18-20, 2019 using indoor and outdoor facilities around Pearland for nine to 15 sporting events.
“We’re very proud Pearland was selected for the TAAF Winter Games of Texas 2018–19, a covered sporting event, which gives us an opportunity to welcome athletes and visitors for a long weekend stay in Pearland,” said Kim Sinistore, executive director of the Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The events will be funded through a partnership between the CVB and the City of Pearland, in addition to sponsorships and revenue generated during the games. The TAAF Winter Games are expected to generate an economic impact of $1.5 million, according to Pearland Sinistore.
Official registration opens October 1, 2017.
