SNOHOMISH, Wash.—Fans of women’s soccer in Washington State have some news to cheer about. Snohomish United is adding a women’s team to the USL W League in 2026, expanding the club’s development pathway after it joined USL League Two in 2025. According to the USL W League website, “the USL W League serves as the nation’s premier pre-professional league, developing the next generation of women’s talent both on and off the field, and enhancing the women’s soccer pipeline between college and professional soccer.”

With origins in Snohomish Youth Soccer, which began in the mid-1970s, Snohomish United was formally established in 1989 and now serves more than 1,800 players across multiple levels. The club says its mission is to maintain a high standard of performance while fostering a love for the sport among players of all backgrounds.

“Snohomish United is extremely honored, privileged and excited to join the USL W League and provide opportunities and a development pathway for players to advance to professional soccer,” says technical director Scott Uderitz. “We aim to provide a fun, attractive, and competitive product and game-day experience that best represents the city of Snohomish, Snohomish County, and northern Washington state in order to continue growing the sport in our area.”

The club hosts several community events each year, including the Snohomish Bigfoot Tournament and River’s Edge Brewfest, and highlights its core principles of conviction, excellence, enjoyment, and fulfillment as part of its long-term vision.

Snohomish United has produced professional players, including former USL League One standouts Nathan Aune and Tor Saunders. Adding a W-League team is intended to extend the developmental pipeline to the women’s game.
Home matches will be played at Stocker Fields in Snohomish as part of the Northwest Division.

Snohomish United has a proud history of growing the game in Washington, and its expansion into the USL W League builds on that legacy, says Joel Nash, USL senior vice president of youth and pre-professional properties. By adding a women’s team, the club is creating new opportunities for players in the region to develop and compete at a high level while continuing to strengthen its deep connection to the local community.
