ERIE, Pa.—
Antique motorcycle racing will make its Erie debut when The Motordrome on the Bay comes to Lake Erie Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The event will feature vintage motorcycles competing on an oval track in a revival of board track-style racing. Races are scheduled from noon to 3 p.m., while a VIP meet-and-greet will be held from 9 to 11 a.m.

The Motordrome on the Bay showcases antique motorcycles racing at full speed without brakes, recreating one of the sport’s earliest forms of competition. Five racing classes will participate, and motorcycle personality Danger Dan will serve as the event’s emcee.

“We are excited to introduce Erie to The Motordrome on the Bay,” says Kelsey Jackson, race director for The Motordrome on the Bay. “This event brings something truly unique to the area and gives the community a chance to experience the excitement of antique motorcycle racing up close.”

General admission tickets are $25, and admission is free for children ages 16 and younger.

VIP tickets are $75 and include early entry, a meet-and-greet with autograph opportunities, an up-close look at the antique motorcycles, and premium seating.

Rider registration also is open for participants interested in competing in the event. Registration costs $350 per rider and gives entrants an opportunity to test their skills, connect with fellow antique motorcycle enthusiasts, and compete aboard vintage motorcycles.
