EVP Tour Headed To Stockton, Calif., For ProSeries World Finals

LONG BEACH, Ind.—The EVP Tour has signed an agreement with Stockton (Calif.) Convention and Visitors Bureau to host the 2014 and 2015 EVP ProSeries World Finals of Beach Volleyball on the campus of University of the Pacific.

The EVP Tour is the largest beach volleyball tour in the United States with more than 15 events and 5,000 athletes competing each summer.

“We are really excited to bring professional beach volleyball to Stockton,” said EVP Tour Commissioner Ross Balling. “We have athletes from 30 states that will travel to this event and several teams from our ProSeries in Italy. This is the first EVP ProSeries event in the state of California to be hosted by a visitor’s bureau. It makes sense to drive the sports traveler to California.”

This will be the first professional event to be held at Pacific’s new beach volleyball facility, which opened earlier this year. “We really strive to continue to bring new and unique sporting events to Stockton,” said Wes Rhea, CEO of the Stockton Convention and Visitors Bureau. “This EVP event will not only expose Stockton to this growing sport but also showcase a new quality facility at our university.”
