SALEM, Va. — Softball and baseball tournaments are filling the sports calendar for Virginia’s Blue Ridge from the July 4thweekend through the end of October, according to Taylor Spellman, director of public relations with Visit Virginia’s Blue Ridge, who said Salem is Virginia’s Championship City.
Travel baseball and softball tournaments kick off with the USA Girls 16U and 18U Fast Pitch Tournament at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex and the Civic Center and conclude on October 31 with the NSA Slow Pitch Halloween Havoc.
Other baseball or softball tournaments include the USSSA Youth Baseball Tournament, the USA Softball Adult Slow Pitch Tournament, the USSSA Baseball Fall State, the USA Help Save the Next Girl Benefit, the Freedom Sport World’s Coed SP Championship and a number of other tournaments throughout the summer and early fall.
The tournaments will use a variety of facilities in the area, including Botentourt Sport Complex, Greenfield Park, Civic Center East and the James I. Moyer Sports Complex.
