HARRISBURG, Pa.—
Visit Cumberland Valley has joined PA Sports as the organization’s 15th member, expanding the statewide network focused on growing sports tourism and attracting events across Pennsylvania.

Located in south-central Pennsylvania, Cumberland Valley is among the state’s fastest-growing regions and offers a mix of accessibility, outdoor recreation, and community amenities. The destination is home to the halfway point of the Appalachian Trail, nationally recognized car shows, scenic landscapes, and walkable downtowns.

From a sports tourism standpoint, the region offers strong connectivity to major metropolitan areas, a range of athletic facilities and outdoor venues, and six colleges and universities that add additional competition sites and event capacity.

“We’re thrilled to join PA Sports, as the opening of the Carlisle YMCA Aquatic Center in late 2025, increased interest from our schools and parks, and continued growth in sports tourism made this the right time to become a member. Knowing how strong PA Sports is as a group and the close manner in which the members work together, we’re ready to hit the ground running to show Cumberland Valley belongs in such a highly respected group,” says Patrick Bourque, destination sales manager for Visit Cumberland Valley.

“PA Sports is thrilled to welcome Visit Cumberland Valley as our newest member,” says Danielle Vincenti, chair of PA Sports and director of business development for the Hershey Harrisburg Sports & Events Authority. “Cumberland Valley’s central location, strong event infrastructure, and diverse mix of outdoor and community assets make it a valuable addition to our organization. We look forward to collaborating with their team to continue expanding sports tourism opportunities and driving economic impact across Pennsylvania.”

PA Sports is a statewide coalition of destination marketing organizations and sports commissions working to attract and host sporting events across Pennsylvania. Member organizations collaborate to position the state as a competitive destination for youth, amateur, collegiate, and professional events.
