McKINNEY, Texas—The US Senior Pickleball South Zone Championship will be held in McKinney for the first time this week, bringing one of the sport’s regional competitions to the city as pickleball continues its rapid growth across the United States.

The three-day tournament, scheduled for April 24–26, will take place at Courts of McKinney Pickleball and Tennis Center. Organized by US Senior Pickleball, the event is part of a national championship series for athletes age 50 and older.

Competitors from across Texas and other states are expected to participate, with events spanning men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles across multiple age and skill divisions.

Competition begins Friday with women’s doubles and men’s singles, followed by mixed doubles on Saturday. The tournament concludes on Sunday with men’s doubles and women’s singles.

Beyond individual titles, the event serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2026 US Senior Pickleball National Championships, scheduled to be held later this year in Arizona. Medalists in McKinney will earn priority registration for the national competition.

The championship is expected to draw hundreds of participants and spectators, boosting the local economy and increasing visibility for the fast-growing sport.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend as McKinney hosts the event for the first time. For more information, visit US Senior Pickleball.
